On Thursday, Katrine took me around Trondheim to do some sightseeing. I have to tell you, she is an excellent tour guide!
We took a rickety elevator ride to the top of this tower (Tyholttårnet) |
The view from the tower Tyholttårnet. |
Trondheimfjord from Tyholttårnet. |
Kristiansten festning (Kristiansen fortress)
Don't I look tall? I love it! |
Nidarosdomen (Nidarose Cathedral) |
Nidarosdomen. Construction of the cathedral first started in 1070. |
Bybroa (Old Town Bridge) Can you tell it was windy? |
Nidelva (The river that runs through Trondheim) |
Warming up in a cafe. |
Wooden houses along Nidelva. Katrine's mom works in a wooden house along the river. This picture was taken from her office. | | | | | | | | | | |
More wooden houses along Nidelva. The office I was in was built in the 1700's. |
We spotted this at the Trondheim library, and I just had to climb in for a photo op. |
Going to visit the Nidar candy factory. |
At the Nidar store. Katrine's friend works there. |
140 kroner worth of candy! Gotta love factory store prices combined with an employee discount! |
Making lefse |
Yummmmmm... lefse with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. |

From now on, I will not go out without extra batteries in my flipcam! I learned my lesson... :-(
I have obviously been in Norway for a while. It is so Norwegian to insert a smiley face into a sentence!
