Come Together

After a few technical problems, I have pictures to share from Tina and Gary's visit! We stayed in Oslo the entire time and checked out the basic sights. Here is the week in photos:

They brought about 15 lbs in magazines! I've got enough reading materials to last a lifetime!

I'm pretty sure Gary read 75% of the time he was in the apartment.

Yum! A dinner I didn't have to cook! Trav had brie stuffed chicken and I had lamb chops!

Overall, I think Tina and Gary had a pretty relaxing vacation. We loved having them here and we are looking forward to hosting our next guest in a couple of weeks! Thank you, Tina and Gary, for coming all the way out to see us!!!

Madman

This morning, I tried out a recipe for oven pancakes that Trav's Aunt Reggie sent me. It was delicious!!! Thank you, Reggie!

Then, we went to the Red Bull Sparkstøtting Supercross at the ski hill (Grefesenkollen) behind our house. It was a kicksled (spark) race with teams of two dressed in costumes.

There was also a large inflated bag at the bottom of a ski jump that reminded me of The Blob from the movie Heavyweights

We just got back from seeing Love and Other Drugs. I love that we can see movies from the US in Oslo. I can't wait to see Black Swan!

I'll Be Back

Guess what?

I'm comin' home!!! My flight is booked for Tuesday, March 22nd:

While I am very excited to come home, I have some anxiety. What the H am I going to do? I know I need to get a job, but what kind of job? A summer job? A real job? I don't know why I am so anxious. After all, I have done both! The hardest thing is not knowing what our plans will be after this season is over. Time will tell, I guess. In the mean time, I will be savoring this unrealistic lifestyle while it lasts.

I'm a Loser

Travis had a play date today with Kevin. They played video games, went grocery shopping, made lunch, and went to the mall. I think Travis enjoys having a friend here in Oslo. I have to admit I am jealous! I wish I had my own friend to play with during the day...

While he was away, I went skiing...

Lately, I've been having a lot of fun building train tracks for the kids I babysit. I wouldn't be disappointed if I had my own wooden tracks to play with... (yes, it is that dull here and I am that pathetic!)

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

I forgot to mention that Travis was player of the game on Sunday. He was given a set of "Las Vegas" poker chips. It is very heavy, though, so someone in the Tralle family will need to pack light when they come to Oslo!

Also, Manglerud played Lillehammer again tonight (due to the rescheduling of a game over the holidays). They lost 5 - 4, but they outplayed Lillehammer through the first and second periods. Be sure to check out this video link to see Travis' shorthanded goal in the second period: Summary: Manglerud Star- Lillehammer: 4-5

We Can Work It Out

Travis had an away game in Lillhammer yesterday. They lost 3 - 1, but Trav said it was a good game. Here is an article and video highlighting the game, including a fight in the second period: Cool fist fight when knocked Lillehammer Manglerud Star

Trav and I went out skiing today. We headed up to the groomed trails that go along the lake we were at on Saturday. Trav took a big spill at the bottom of a long, fast hill and I started to panic. I was going so fast  behind him (and there was no way I was going to stop) that I was screaming at him to, "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!!!" Shortly after that, we parted ways so I could go down to the lake to ski on a flat surface. Trav spent time working on stopping and turning on the trails. Here are some pics:

I found moose tracks (and moose poop, but I decided to skip taking a photo of it!)

Moose tracks/my attempt at an artsy-fartsy photo.

Coming up this week: hockey, skiing, babysitting, hockey, babysitting, and skiing!
